Turn utility data into controlled energy-performance action
ISO 50001 is an Energy Management System standard designed to improve energy performance, including energy efficiency, energy use and energy consumption. It does not require a specific technology; it requires a disciplined way to analyse and improve performance.
Many facilities track monthly electricity or fuel bills but cannot explain which equipment, production volumes, weather conditions or operating practices caused a change. ISO 50001 introduces an energy review, significant energy uses, energy performance indicators and baselines that make results more meaningful.
The system also connects energy considerations with design and procurement. New equipment, renovations, production changes and service contracts can influence energy performance for years, so evaluation should happen before the decision is locked in.
Qualitcert supports Kenyan organisations with energy review methodology, data structures, EnPIs, baselines, objective planning, operational controls, internal audit and certification readiness.
