CE Marking Begins with Product Classification and Applicable Legislation
Dubai manufacturers and exporters may need CE marking when supplying certain product categories to the European Economic Area. The required work depends on the product, intended use, technical characteristics, applicable EU legislation, harmonised standards and conformity-assessment route.
CE marking is not a general quality certificate and is not issued by a central EU authority. The manufacturer is responsible for identifying applicable requirements, completing conformity assessment, preparing technical documentation, issuing the EU Declaration of Conformity and affixing the mark correctly. A notified body is involved only when the applicable legislation requires third-party assessment.
Qualitcert supports organisations in organising the conformity pathway, identifying documentation gaps and coordinating required testing or assessment activities. Final legal responsibility remains with the relevant economic operator, and product-specific advice should be based on the applicable legislation.
